How It All Began

A Personal Experience
That Changed Everything

BetterHands was founded in 2014 by Martine Jean-Paul, after she watched her own mother struggle to find consistent, trustworthy home care following a stroke. The options were either impersonal or unreliable — and Margaret knew families deserved better.

2014

BetterHands Is Born

Founded by Martine Jean-Paul with one caregiver and a commitment to transform home care in the region.

2016

Team Grows to 25 Caregivers

Rapid word-of-mouth growth leads us to expand our caregiver team and introduce specialist dementia care services.

2018

New Office & Training Centre

We open our dedicated training facility, raising the bar for caregiver education and professional development.

2020

Navigating the Pandemic

Despite global disruptions, BetterHands never stopped. We adapted swiftly, keeping vulnerable clients safe with PPE protocols and virtual check-ins.

2022

Regional Care Excellence Award
